Painting outdoors is not for the faint-hearted, particularly if the coast is your focus. There are fierce winds and sea spray, swooping gulls and numb hands to contend with. However, the benefits of sticking it out generally pay off and what emerges is a small record of that moment.
The sea is framed by the ever-imposing mountains of Assynt. Shifting purples and flashes of turquoise are fleeting as the winds push the clouds around.
